Behind the Scenes of a Bridal Boudoir Shoot

I got to be apart of a bridal boudoir shoot for Je T'aime Beauty shot by Kim Le (also blogger for Lace & Locks and owner of Morning Lavender) a couple Fridays ago, and I wanted to share some behind the scenes snaps of all the pretty things the models got to play with (the models wore pieces from Morning Lavender and had hair/make up done by Ting Makeup)! Enjoy the pretty and frilly things, and Happy Wednesday!

16th Colony's Spring Trunk Show at Swell Beauty, Laguna Beach

Renee Rogers and I only just modeled in this shoot this past Monday morning for her line, 16th Colony and she already sent me photos yesterday. We went on location at this rad place, Sunken City in San Pedro, CA; where big slabs of concrete covered in graffiti art which used to be the foundation of houses were strewn all over the cliff side near the ocean. Hair and makeup was done by Dee of Swell Beauty of course and jewelry from Raptor Jewelry. Seriously, every time the three of us get together, it's pure magic; this time we shot an editorial for the 16th Colony Spring 2015 Collection 'Enigma' and some of the images were used in promotion for an upcoming event. If you're in the area, I hope to see you there; see the details on the flyer above. Stay tuned for more photos of each look (along with a promo shopping code), and shop the collection here.

PolisArt's 'That's the Look' Editorial February 2015

No Ties Mangement model Rachel James has a very beautifully unique and ambiguous look and I was excited to get to style her for a strictly black and white shoot with her back in October, which happened to be published this month in PolisArt Magazine. I played around with various weights of fabric, mixing satin with cotton, leather with fur, or structured with soft; exploring different moods; minimalistic, retro, sultry seductive, and bewitching.

16th Colony's The Skylark Poncho in Goddess of Mystery

16th Colony's The Skylark Poncho is one of my faves due to the softness, pretty layers, and I'm just head over heels about that fringe detail! For this Joshua Tree shoot, it was styled over a voluminous chiffon maxi dress and with a very dark and mysterious make up look. See more photos from the shoot here and outfit details below:

Christmas Sequins Style

Dripping in Sequins & Faux Fur for the Holidays

I'm glamming it up this Christmas with a fabulous sequin romper from Dames & Damsels. It perfectly complemented the holiday glitter beauty look that Dee of Swell Beauty did on me and I shared in my last post. Wardrobe Stylist Rebecca of Tailored Tantrums added accents of gold with the jewelry and clutch which highlighted the gold glitter pigment on my eyes. The outfit exuded a bit of winter with the faux fur vest and rich burgundy hues. I can't forget the Jeffrey Campbell shoes, which, are to lust for, I need to get myself a pair if I can even find them; they are a versatile lace up heel and so comfy! What I love about the use of the glitter pigment on the eyelids and lining the lower lash line is it adds a huge pop and is a beautiful statement without being overwhelming on the face. As for the sequin romper, I absolutely adore the deep burgundy color and I can wear it alone or add a sweater or blousy top over to show just the shorts part of the romper. What are you styling this holiday season? MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

16th Colony's Stevie Poncho in Goddess of Mystery

To transition from the first 16th Colony look from the Goddess of Mystery shoot featuring the Rumours Poncho, we moved into an earthier look with the Stevie Poncho layered over an embroidered dress, leather pants and boots. My already big hair was given an addition of all sorts of twigs, branches, flowers and other desert elements. This had to be one of my favorite looks because it had an almost nomadic wanderer, don't mess with me, kind of vibe; like I had no care in the world and was just roaming my domain, the vast desert landscape.
