Sauri FW15 at LA Fashion Council Collection Showings

Known for his signature skate and street style aesthetic, LA designer Kyle Awtry presented his SAURI FW15 collection at LA Fashion Council. The collection was filled with simple denim and chambray pieces, as well as lace layers and loungewear-like clothing. The line was made for 'that every cool girl from Venice to Downtown, skateboard or no skateboard, wants to wear right now'. My favorite piece was the denim maxi dress that had an interesting cut out and neckline. Most of the other pieces were casual with a conceptual touch from Awtry. Pull over jackets and sweatershirts were made a bit more appealing with fabric mixing, but I felt as if some of the bottoms were ill-fitting on the models. See the Sauri SS15 Collection here and other LAFC collections I've posted about so far.

Sauri SS15 Collection at LA Fashion Council, Maker City LA

Sauri designer Kyle Awtry presented his collection of urban, street-inspired pieces at LA Fashion Council's SS15 Collections showings at Maker City LA. I was quite excited about the first neoprene-like vest layered on top of a black button down (although I might not have necessarily paired the vest/top combo with the casual shorts), but a bit underwhelmed with the rest of the pieces (aside from the shirt dress with leather panel) which seemed quite fitting for lounging. Awtry described his collection as "masking the classic more tailored fabrics with a more grunge & trim detailed edge. Using all influences currently around me like skateboarding, fashion, getting good coffee and juice that helps me cope throughout the busy and hectic day of LA traffic". I definitely think it was a good starting point and look forward to seeing how Sauri transforms, grows, and makes a name for itself in the LA fashion scene.
