Sauri FW15 at LA Fashion Council Collection Showings

Known for his signature skate and street style aesthetic, LA designer Kyle Awtry presented his SAURI FW15 collection at LA Fashion Council. The collection was filled with simple denim and chambray pieces, as well as lace layers and loungewear-like clothing. The line was made for 'that every cool girl from Venice to Downtown, skateboard or no skateboard, wants to wear right now'. My favorite piece was the denim maxi dress that had an interesting cut out and neckline. Most of the other pieces were casual with a conceptual touch from Awtry. Pull over jackets and sweatershirts were made a bit more appealing with fabric mixing, but I felt as if some of the bottoms were ill-fitting on the models. See the Sauri SS15 Collection here and other LAFC collections I've posted about so far.

Stella Proseyn FW15 at LA Fashion Council Collection Showings

LA designer Debbie Talanian is the queen of minimalist lines and textiles; this season for her Stella Proseyn Fall 2015 Collection shown at LA Fashion Council, Makercity LA, Talanian presented a line up of military green hues, lace overlays, boxy jackets and tops, tailored slacks, and a very bold and almost reptilian fabric which is a slight departure from what I've seen in past Stella Proseyn collections.

Talanian got her inspiration through fabrics and let them lead her collection. There was a focus on attainable beauty and everyday luxury, and fabrics that feel good and look good. Silhouettes were clean, minimal, and still relevant without being trendy. The pieces were designed to be ones a woman can keep in her wardrobe season after season, and were all designed and produced in LA.

Sky Blue Pants for the Spring Season

I've been quite in the Spring mood since this weekend and wanted to wear some color to LA Fashion Council's Day 1 of Fall/Winter 2015 Collections yesterday, so I immediately thought of my sky blue wide pants. I am absolutely obsessed with this color and it got me right in an upbeat, bubbly mood. I kept my top neutral but mixed it up with texture by wearing a lace and immaculately pearl beaded collar and a simple cream blazer over the shoulders. The pants got an extra pop when I used my vibrant coral clutch, creating a marriage of complementary colors. Of course, the runway lights were bright, so couldn't be without my ZeroUV sunglasses. See deets for the look below and follow me on Instagram | Twitter | Facebook for LAFC fashion show and presentation updates today! My hair was also looking unstyled today and bless my stars the Glam Squad team was posted up at LAFC so I was able to get my hair fully styled as well as my make up touched up! Check out this amazing new mobile beauty company that's currently serving Los Angeles.

Bloggers Night Out with Emblem Showroom benefiting Toys for Tots

Two Australian Labels to be on the lookout for

Blogger babe Kimberly Luu brought me along with her to previewed S/S 15 collections for two Australian lines represented by Emblem Showroom in DTLA last week. The Inder Dhillon collection featured innovative textures and hand painted embellishing, bright and jewel toned colors mixed with neutral hues, and a variety of interesting silhouettes. The SWF collection was inspired by the chic, Manhattan woman with feminine but modern dresses, flow-y pieces, and bold prints. Aside from getting to check out each line, Kimberly and I got manis from Priv and enjoyed adult beverages. Guests were also encouraged to bring toys and presents to contribute to Toys For Tots, such as great cause to support and align with fashion this holiday season. And, I can't wait to pull garments from Emblem Showroom to style for a shoot!

Fall to Winter Outfit with Cape

Transitioning into Winter // What I Wore to the Hello! Exploring the Supercute World of Hello Kitty Exhibit at the JANM
There has been all this buzz about the Hello Kitty Exhibit at the Japanese American National Museum in DTLA that I had to check it out and share it on FFF (hence the Hello Kitty pin and sticker that may show in my outfit photos). I'm still sorting through all the photos (I took SO many, and that's an understatement); but in the meantime, here's what I wore for a somewhat cold day in LA which means it's transitioning into winter for us Southern Californians.

Hat, August
Reversible Bardot Necklace, Samantha Wills
Rings, Forever 21 & Papers and Peonies
Dress, Urban Outfitters
Cape, Lex & Mila
Vince Camuto Boots, Tootsies Shoe Boutique Newport

Backpack,Thrifted from Goodwill

I wanted to wear a dress but knew it was going to be a tad windy so I layered a cape coat over my dress which I could wear from day to night since I'd be in LA all day. Instead of wearing ankle booties, I opted for knee high boots to keep my legs covered up more and kept my head warm with a hat (which I chose in burgundy to bring out the colors of the dress). In Southern California during this season, we usually experience chilly mornings and fairly mild mid-70 temps; so layering up too much during the morning can lead to a toasty day. Throw on a lightweight jacket or coat over your look and add a scarf in the morning which you can easily take off in the afternoons. Shorts may not seem so appropriate at this time but if you want to bare a little leg, wear a dress or skirt that hits mid thigh or above the knee and add tall boots (get into the winter season by wearing knee high socks). What's your favorite piece or accessory to wear during the winter? And stay tuned for photos and coverage from the Hello Kitty Exhibit!
