1 Wedding Gown - 3 Ways on OC Style Report

Happy Friday everyone! I am so thrilled to share that OC Style Report published a wedding restyle series: One Wedding Gown Three Ways a few days ago as apart of the publication's recently launched wedding/bridal style section. I wore a stunning Casablanca Bridal blush pink mermaid gown with an exquisite lace overlay and it was styled by Rachael & Katie three different ways: floral queen, modern mod, and vintage glamour; accessorized by What a Betty hair pieces and sashes, Kash Crystals jewelry, Bleubelle Floral bouquets and head wreaths; with hair and make up by Dee and Assistant Elisa of Swell Beauty; and photography by Shawna of Bleudog Fotography at the Dana Point Yacht Club. Which look is your fave?

FLORAL QUEEN // With the popularity of floral wreath crowns on the rise, we had to give it a go with this look. The dress was kept as is to showcase the enormous roses, ivy leaves, and other delicate foliage that crowned my head of curls. Of course I donned a bouquet just as much of a statement as my floral crown, and showed off sparkle from the earrings and bracelet. I felt like an almost ethereal floral fairy princess in this entire look, definitely a romantic wedding look.

VINTAGE GLAMOUR // There's an almost mysterious essence and poise to this vintage-inspired wedding look featuring a prominent 'roaring 20s'-like finger wave hair style pulled back into a simple pony tail embellished with a statement feather and broach hairpiece. The sparkle was carried throughout the look with drop earrings and a beautifully beaded sash.

MODERN MOD // The iconic 'mod' girl look was given an update and wedding twist with this look. I especially liked the white eyeliner detail and hairstyle that featured a pretty dainty comb. This is a look that I haven't generally gotten to embody or try so it was quite exciting to do so in bridal form.

Opening Day of Bing Crosby Season, Del Mar Thoroughbred Club

My Old Hollywood Look for the Horse Races
And they're off! It was an exciting day at the horse race tracks in Del Mar last Friday as visitors celebrated the Inaugural Bing Crosby Season in which Old Hollywood style meets cool Southern Californian vibes for the next four weeks filled with top notch Thoroughbred racing, events, and entertainment. Aside from the edge of your seat suspense from the horse races, I loved seeing vintage-inspired as well as more modern day horse race fashions around the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club.  Big Crosby himself founded the DMTC with celebrity pals in the 1930s, and the glamour and glitz from that time was brought to life. Aside from the races, there was live music and merriment around the courtyard areas and even costume contests. I knew that I wanted to wear a birdcage veil, so who better to go with than a What a Betty piece. I met with Betty the day before the event with a ton of dresses in hand, and she pulled out so many beautiful birdcage veils to pair with the dresses; we fell in love with how the Turquoise Something Blue Birdcage Veil paired amazingly well with a stunning Velvet & Satin with Filigree Crystal Peony and a slightly smaller flower clip similar to this style; looked with a one shoulder turquoise vintage dress. I curled my hair and pinned it to one side, painted on red lips, then finished my look with a vintage fur stole, court shoes, and a little clutch. I attended the event with blogger Joann and photographer Talia; we had a blast!

The Roaring 20s with What A Betty

Great Gatsby Glamour with Stunning Feathers & Sparkle
I am so excited to get to shoot with OC Style Report & Swell Beauty this morning for a new bridal series that they will be launching soon. Yes, you read right, bridal! That means I'll get to model a beautiful wedding gown, and I heard that I could possibly be accessorized in industry-leading bridal pieces, What a Betty. In the meantime, before the bridal photos are published, and in lieu of the many Halloween costume parties that are taking place this week, I wanted to share this phenomenal What a Betty headpiece (which can serve as costume inspiration) that I had the pleasure of donning at Fun Nights Out Roaring 20s Casino Night Fundraiser at the Essex Skyline benefiting the American Cancer Society. I was able to attend the event last minute, and I didn't have anything to wear; so on my way home from work, I stopped in at an OC Goodwill store (seriously, you can't go wrong with the costume selection and affordable prices) and picked up this amazing sequin gown (that I didn't try on and happened to be my size) for only $5! The next morning, I met Betty and made up my mind in 2 seconds as to which headpiece I wanted to use, it was perfect for a glitzy and glamorous 1920s soiree; huge feathers, a crazy amount of sparkles, just that ultimate statement piece that epitomized the splendor of the 'Golden Age Twenties'. Betty also let me use a pair of her black satin gloves and I layered with my own pearl bracelet; that just completed my look.

What a Betty is a leading accessories (headpieces, veils, garters, belts, you name it) designer in the Bridal industry and is creating a huge presence in the fashion industry; she recently had her pieces at Metropolitan Fashion Week, and one of her peacock facsinator was worn on the hit ABC television show, Revenge. I met Betty awhile back at a restaurant grand opening, and I am so glad we have kept in touch and I've gotten to see her brand grow into what it is today! She's so sweet to work with and I admire her determination and passion. She has everything from an every day headbands to elaborate headpieces like the one I wore, which is the 'Great Gatsby White Feather Brooch Hair Clip' clipped onto one of her bridal headbands.
