Denim on Denim Style for 2015

I've gotten to wardrobe style a 'Denim on Denim' concept for a photo shoot, but don't think I've actually worn the trend myself. I knew I had to give it a try when I stumbled across this denim-style tencel top from Mango during their huge sale, and loved how it looked with my jeans when I had tried it on in the fitting room. Therefore, my go-to weekend look was this denim outfit with pops of black and red. Details below and don't forget to shop Mango's SALE! I got my eye on a few other jackets and tops!

VietBeauty Magazine's 10th Anniversary Issue

Although it's now 2015, I wanted to share this feature that I was apart of in 2014. I am so honored to have gotten to be featured in VietBeauty Magazine's Nov/Dec 2014 Issue marking the publication's 10th Anniversary. I was highlighted in a 6-Page Shopping Guide featuring the Western, Sweater Knit, and Bejeweled Trends. What's your favorite trend out of the three?

16th Colony's The Rhiannon Poncho in Goddess of Mystery

This is the third look of the Goddess of Mystery shoot I did with Renee Rogers at Joshua Tree National Park. It's one of my favorites due to the dramatic make up and headpiece, as well as the mixing of the burgundy gown and The Rhiannon Poncho. Dee of Swell Beauty did a great job at creating this wild, naturalistic look with the hair and make up; it transformed me into a creature of the desert. The dress was a beautiful contrast against the backdrop of the shades of sand and beige hues and pops of green; and complemented the print of the poncho well.

Urban Outfitters Winter Accessories

I may be in Southern California, but it has been one of the chilliest winters with high winds, rain, and even snow; and thanks to discount shopping app Shopular, I got the tip that one of my fave shops Urban Outfitters is having an amazing winter sale in-store and online. Shoppers can take advantage of 30% off select jeans, sweaters, jackets, and winter accessories until Monday January 5th. Here are my top five winter accessory picks to bundle up against this frosty air.
I don't get to wear gloves often, but actually have quite a collection of glove styles. I love these Leather + (Faux) Fur Elbow Gloves that have an elegant touch to them, and not only will keep my hands warm but my forearms as well. I like that the gloves can be worn casually with jeans, a sweater, and cocoon or oversized coat and scarf; or with a more formal look such as with a satin dress and matching coat or balero jacket(I'm imagining Carrie Bradshaw in her Oscar de la Renta hot pink dress with tux-like balero jacket that she received from 'The Russian'). The gloves were originally $98 and are now $37.49 (WHAT?! unreal)I'm totally drooling over the blanket/poncho draped look and just love how this Colorblock Triangle Blanket Poncho looks effortless when worn and the black and white knit makes it a versatile wardrobe piece. Originally $49, it is now $22.49.I have an affinity for fur pieces; I don't buy new fur but do collect and have a couple vintage fur pieces. This faux fur stole is vegan friendly and comes in a few colors. I like how luxe it looks and can be easily thrown over any look, especially a leather or faux leather jacket. Get the Fur Collar Scarf for $30.80, originally $44. Again, back to the blanket/poncho style but this one is different with the print and hood detail. This Oversized Patterned Hooded Open Poncho is more lightweight and easy to layer; and will therefore serve well as a year round piece in Orange County. Originally $59, it is now $41.30. I just adore how soft this beanie looks, so much so that I might want to cuddle with it more than wear it. This Fuzzy Beanie is giving me snow bunny vibes even if I'm not on the slopes, it's available in 6 different colors and you can get it for $14, originally $29.

Happy New Year 2015!

Happy New Year! How are you going to make 2015 different than 2014? Last year wasn't the greatest in my personal life, but I grew in my professional life getting to connect with many people in the fashion and beauty industry locally, and be apart of wardrobe styling projects and modeling opportunities. It's been a whirlwind, and I can't wait to continue to flourish in that and explore more creative outlets. I'm kicking off the New Year with this shoot I did with featuring a holiday beauty & hair look with Swell Beauty:
