Here's the second installment of the Lunar New Year / T?t 'o di' series with OC designer Thai Nguyen Collections. This dress was my favorite because of the vibrant hue of turquoise with a pop of gold; as well it featured a modern one shoulder cut and sheer layers. I can't believe the new year is this upcoming Thursday, I'll share Vietnamese traditions and celebrations in my next few posts! If you're interested in picking up a traditional Vietnamese dress like the one featured here for up to 70% off, stop into the TNC showroom to shop their huge annual sale!

Exclusive Interview with Deanna of KYSS Bracelets

Chatting with the darn cutest bracelet designer & founder of KYSS (Keep Your Soul Sweet)
Happy Weekend Everyone! I had the pleasure of sitting down with Deanna of KYSS bracelets last year to chat all about her passion for beaded bracelets over delicious bites and of course while sorting through beads and bracelets to create my very own, exclusive FFF bracelet set! You may have seen the style post in which I featured KYSS bracelet stacks, if not click here! I'll be styling and shooting my very own FFF set soon!

Read the fun interview with Deanna below, and check out the FFF bracelet set here where you can order by emailing Deanna at info.kyssbracelets@gmail.com.Visit KYSS' facebook and instagram!
1. What inspired you to start KYSS Bracelets (can also explain what KYSS means here) and the designs that you create? I've always been inspired to start/create something of my own in the fashion realm. Since I am so young, I'm constantly exposed to so many cute accessories, clothes, and jewelry in my daily life, so I decided to start my work of art by creating unique and fun jewelry. I call it my line of inspiration. KYSS stands for "Keep Your Soul Sweet," so wearing KYSS everyday is a daily reminder to "keep your soul sweet."

2. What are you favorite types of stones/beads to work with? This is a tough question! I LOVE all the beads! Since I am so new to jewelry making, I haven't picked a top favorite that I love working with. I have a few favorites. My main choice of beads to use are gemstones. Almost all the bracelets are made of precious gemstones. I love working with all the fun types of gemstones there are, one of my favorites are the riverstone beads because they have this cream color infused with all the bead colors so it makes all the beads have this natural color look.

3. What makes KYSS Bracelets different from other bracelet brands/jewelry? KYSS is unique because of the meaning behind it. When you start something of your own, or do something in life and prosper from it, you always wants to remain humble. When I first started my line, and was thinking of names for my line I wanted something with a meaning to it, and I was messing around with acronyms...KYSS stuck immediately. I always think that above all else in life, you need to "Keep Your Soul Sweet." So ladies can walk around feeling good about themselves in KYSS, while having a fun and unique arm party!

4. Describe a day in your shoes...A typical day in my shoes can be summed up by "from when I open my eyes, to when I close my eyes." I am a full time college student who wants to make it all happen! I attend CSULB, work a ton, and every minute and break I get, I am constantly beading, and coming up with new designs, searching for new beads, and creating my work.

5. What's your favorite place to visit? My favorite place to visit is Maui, Hawaii. Whenever I get a vacation, that is my choice of preference. It's where I feel the most relaxed, and that's what everyone needs in life every now and then.

6. When I am not making bracelets, I am_______________...I am searching and ordering new beads!!

7. Where do you see yourself and your brand in 5 years? In 5 years, I really hope to see my brand in a ton of boutiques, hopefully ones out of state as well! I also hope to have my necklace ideas as a part of my line as well.

8. Any fun facts about yourself? I am a Disneyland addict. I've owned a pass for three years...I'm 20 years old. I don't think anyone can ever be too old for Disneyland! It really is the happiest place on earth!

9.What's your favorite movie? food? fashion trend? My favorite movie is a: A Walk To Remember... Favorite Food: Crab! Fashion trend: I have an obsession with finding super rad and different booties.

10. Anything else you want to include! I'm so excited to have my bracelets carried in Andrew Murray Winery Boutique, Miyamo Boutique (Napa Valley), Elison Rd. (Belmont Shore), and The Denim Bar (Los Alamitos)!

I had the pleasure of attending another LA Travel Magazine launch party last week, this one in commemoration of the publication's Winter 2015 Issue at the intimate nightclub Bardot within the Avalon, a historic theater located in the heart of Hollywood. The exclusive event was hosted by Editor-in-Chief Jennifer McLaughlin-Dunn and Executive Editor, Michael Dunn; with entertainment by DJ Dave Wrobel and Elan Artists, showcasing a number of 1920s themed performances by The Melodies. Guests socialized in the old Hollywood glamour ambiance of Bardot, sipped on hosted cocktails sponsored by Titos Handmade Vodka, and visited the Celebrity Cruises booth to enjoy a free glass of champagne and enter to win a free cruise. Guests and VIPs posed for photos in front of the banner with feather-donning flapper girls from Dancing Fire. Lunar New Year / T?t 2015 Ao Dai Series

Lunar New Year or T?t as the Vietnamese call it, is coming up on February 19th and I've teamed up with local Vietnamese designer Thai Nguyen Collections to bring you another traditional Vietnamese dress 'o di' series. Stylist Andrew Nguyen paired the o dis with more modern pieces such as ripped jeans and leather booties. For this particular look, the print of the o di was simple but beautifully embellished with a stunning sequin, beaded pattern. Andrew threw on a faux leather jacket and instead of the traditional high waisted pant, I wore destroyed skinnies and booties. For this series, we partnered with photographer Kevin Wong and gallivanted around a couple temples in the Garden Grove/ Westminster area in Orange County. Stay tuned for more traditional meets modern o di  looks celebrating the new year. You can see my previous o di  series here and if you're in the OC area, stop into the TNC showroom to shop their annual sale and pick up your very own o di for up to 70% off!

Golden Winters x Flared Denim

Happy Hump Day! I'm excited to announce that the fashion magazine, Alpha/Omega, in which I am starting with my friend Andrew finished it's first editorial shoot this past Monday! We are so excited to get the ball rolling on this dream and passion project of ours! Follow A/O on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter for updates on our shoots and launch date!

I haven't worn flared jeans in the longest time and was feeling a bit adventure yesterday so I whipped out my Rich & Skinny pair; what I love about these are the wash and stretch. Since the waist was not a high rise and I wanted to wear a cropped top, I tied my fave cloud washed Michael Stars button down around my waist, which married the denim wash and white top together. I went a bit wild with some Flash Tattoos and a ring party. It was a little chilly outside so I pulled a faux leather jacket over my shoulders, which features a strong boxy shape and edgier look.
